You may be wondering why its important to build your audience? Maybe, you feel stuck as you try to reach new potential clients? Do you feel like you are only receiving likes from the same five friends and your mom? I’ve definitely been there! So, I want to teach you how to reach a new audience as a photographer!

Many times, to potential clients, our photos may all start to look the same. They may not be able to differentiate one photographer’s work from another, but, you can set yourself apart from others by following these 3 steps to grow your aduience!

Teach Your Audience That They Can Trust You

Does this seem like a daunting task for you? I promise, it’s not all that hard!

Let’s talk about the easiest way to gain trust with your audience: Consistency.

One of the key tasks to gaining trust from new followers is consistency. When you show up in your business consistently on social media by posting new work, or educating your potential clients you will be opening up a whole new world of new clients to work with.

Show Your Following Who You Are

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned over the past 12 years of growing, running, and building my own photography business is that many times my audience and clients were attracted to me over other photographers is because they felt that they could relate to me.

If your audience can resonate with you whether they feel like they can relate, or they think you are funny, or they find comfort, encouragement, or feel empowered by your presence they will be more likely to engage and follow you, and book with you!

Don’t be afraid to show your audience, and potential audience who you are. You, will be the reason a client books with you or not.

Take The Time To Engage With Your Potential Audience

Now, be sure to not overlook this step. If you aren’t taking the time to engage with others who you would love to work with or who you feel would be a good fit, then they may not even know you are out there! Be sure to not only engage in conversations on your posts you make on social media, but also seek out and engage on posts that your current or potential clients make so that others can get to know you! Now this step also relates to both the first and second step because you want to do this consistently, everyday before and after you post on social media. Also, you want to show up authentically and show that you are relatable and trustworthy.
