We know that growing a boudoir business can be daunting. You may say to yourself “but I have to do XYZ, or I should be doing XYZ” because so and so said so… but I’m here to tell you that you don’t have to do it ALL, all the time. Check out these 3 tips we encourage you to stop doing in 2022.

1. Stop asking if you should quit your photography business.

Our short answer to that question: No, you shouldn’t.

Our long answer will be followed by many questions. What are you currently doing in your business? What is working? What isn’t? Have you thought of approaching your business in a different way? Have you focused on correcting your SEO, your Google business page? Advertising your business correctly? Getting better at your craft?

We know that owning your own business isn’t easy and it isn’t for the faint of heart. However, we know there is SO much you can do to make your business better, sustainable, and actually fun!

2. Stop showing up only when you have something you want to sell.

It’s lame. Your audience knows you are only there for one reason and they lose interest. Yes, we get sometimes you need a break, we even encourage you to take one, but we also encourage you to provide immense value consistently so that when you are selling it feels like servicing rather than selling!

See what we did there?!?! Service your client, don’t sell to your client.

Did you know that your followers want to hear from you and more importantly they look for a connection with you! Remember that whole “know, like, and trust factor” It’s a real thing, and its so important for your potential clients. Especially when it comes to Boudoir, because it is so personal, and many clients feel so vulnerable.

3. Stop comparing yourself to those vanity metrics.

Yes, we all know how important a social media presence is to your business. It can be discouraging when you look and compare your followers to someone else. In the boudoir world, we have a lot of odds stacked against us. Many times because of the nature of our photos we may get banned, or blocked, or lose our groups and have to start over. The amount of followers you have on social media does not determine your worth or your success….. repeat that after me! THE AMOUNT OF FOLLOWERS YOU HAVE ON SOCIAL MEDIA DOES NOT DETERMINE YOUR WORTH OR YOUR SUCCESS.

Instead, stay consistent by posting valuable content to engage your followers. Over time as a result your following will grow, but you will be connecting with your clients in a whole new way.
